Well, it's been some time since my last post.  I updated "The Pond" pictures with the latest changes and upgrades to it.  Basically we almost double the size of the pond.  If you've read this far, then here is a link to the updates:  http://volcanosdomain.net/thepond.htm

Greetings!

I thought it time to give an update to events with the Altima.  I installed a new stainless grill on our new Altima SE-R.  I updated the photos of the car, as we also have gotten the windows tinted since my last post.  All in all the car is looking pretty good, except there is too much gap between the front tires and the fender.  Will give it some thought I guess.  Other additions are Nismo satin stainless steel license plate frames, Nismo anti-theft valve stem caps, wheel locks, and a Nissan 1st aid kit in the trunk.  I'm debating a cold air intake kit, but will wait and see how the mass airflow sensors fair prior to doing so.

Health wise after my accident, I've finished physical therapy and am doing much better.  I still have back pain after over doing it lifting too much, but all in all am much better now.

After receiving our check for the difference with what we still owed, we started our search for a new car/truck.  It ended up being a new 2005 Nissan Altima SE-R.  It is Silver Frost with black/red trimmed leather interior.  The car is awesome in everyway.  You can find pictures and more information here:  http://volcanosdomain.net/the_cars.htm#Altima_SE-R   I'm still attending physical therapy for my back and usually get through a day fair until the evening.  I guess it will take time to recover from the accident.  The new car will help, as our rental didn't have heated seats, and the heat feels so good on my bum back.

Altima is totaled.  No hope for it at all.  All 4 wheels are ok, along with much of the drive train.  I'm sad to see it all go, but yet happy, as I could never face the car again.  We are currently trying to decide between another Altima or a Frontier Crew cab will every option.  I start Physical therapy Monday for 3 times a week for the next 3 weeks.  I'll be glad when the mess is over, and I feel 100% again.

Regards,

Made yet another trip to get stuff from the car.  Forgot about 6 CD's in the Bose radio.  Had to do a bit of improvising to get them out since the battery was drained.  Used old RC flight box that has a small 12vdc batter to power things long enough to remove all the CD's.  Also had 6 or so towels in trunk that were in the crush zone we managed to get out with some pliers.  New pictures of engine compartment are now on the slideshow below.  Still have to get police report so I can file DMV report in the 72 hour window so they don't suspend my license.  Strange how the persons NOT at fault are put through so much crap in order to get things completed.

The car will be on its way to Portland to State Farms collision center to be looked at.  I was told last night that it will most likely be totaled at this point, but will wait for a check before believing it.

Our beloved 2002 Altima met its maker 03.14.05 @ 0640 in the morning on way to work, while stopped at a stop light.  I was plowed from behind and then the poor lady mistook the gas peddle for the brake and plowed us again from where she bounced back to.  There were 4-5 cars total, with mine receiving the worst of the damage, as the pictures will show.  I was shoved into a 1982 dodge Ram 4x4 hard enough to mess up the door alignment on it on the passenger side.

I'm now off work for a few days with a bum neck and back as a result and a ride to the emergency room to be checked out.  I personally hope it is totaled, as it will NEVER be the same.  Until today, the car didn't have but 20K miles and had NO dents/dings or scratches.  It was still under factory warranty till August of this year......  :*(
